The Fireworks team came into this match with the first two fixtures having been cancelled. 12 of the squad of 18 turned out for the he match, against a Farncombe team we've repeatedly had some great and close games recently.

Churt started fast with a goal for Orla on 4 minutes (which I admit I missed as I was putting another cone at the corner flag) followed by another at 7 minutes for Siiri. Farncombe responded quickly with a goal of their own on 10 minutes, before the game settled down. Both teams had plenty of chances, with Siiri hitting the post on 19 minutes. Nushie scored on 23 minutes, before two quick fire efforts from Siiri, shooting just wide, and again into the side netting. Just before the halftime whistle, Niamh had a shot saved on her first ever league fixture.

The second half again started strongly, with some lovely passing out wide, and the girls showing their confidence to run with the ball. Nushie again found the net on 35 minutes, before Farncombe scored again on 40 minutes. The match was then end to end with Chloe in goal for Churt making some excellent saves and rushing the farncombe strikers, whilst the Farncombe keeper twice saved when one on one. A strong Churt defence, with Sophie Allen

Score ended 4-2 to Churt, and we look forward to another close game against Farncombe for the return fixture.
