Churt came into the game, once again only having 11 players ready to face the league leaders, Dorking Yellows, who hadn't lost all season and were beating teams heavily. The opposite result was 1-10 to Dorking.
The coach's decided to play 4-2-3-1 with The 2 and 3 in Midfield playing very close together and the 1 also attacking from midfield, so almost 4-6-0.
The idea to keep the midfield packed and attack on the break.
Unfortunately Dorking scored within 2 minutes, so 0-1. However Churt managed to hold the game well, Dorking doing most of the attacking but were limited to a few chances. Then at 14 minutes, Dorking had a corner. The corner ending up with a looping shot to make it 0-2.
The game continued much the same, Dorking on top but not breaking through the Churt midfield much but on 23 minutes they scored again, 0-3 and thats how the half ended. Churt 0 Dorkiing Yellows 3.
The team decided to switch Ruby up front with Amy Thompson moving back to defence, to see if Ruby could open up the attack a bit more with her dribbling. The first few minutes of the half did look more promising but on 46 minutes, Dorking scored a header from a corner 0-4.
Shortly after Ruby injured herself with a tough tackle and had to be carried off, so Churt were down to 10 players.
This made the game even tougher, but Churt dug in and fought hard for each other and also for Ruby who was soon taken to the hospital .
Churt battled hard and managed to limit Dorking to shots from outside the box, lots of players really digging in deep and playing hard. Alex Hayward at Left back was giving a particularly strong performance, as was Tallula Musgrove at Centre back and Hannah Watts who had dropped into Midfield for this game.
The game ended 0-4 and whilst its a loss , it wasn't as heavy as expected and we are very proud of the second half performance in particular.
Lots of players could have won Player of the match, Tilly Carr doing great in goal, but this week it goes to Alex Hayward who never gave up throughout.
All of Churt send Ruby their love and hope she's ok!
