Churt arrived at the first of a two game double header, with a pieced together team, having 5 players missing with D of E, and a couple of players coming back from injury. Dorking were top of the table and had only dropped 2 points all season, having beaten our local rivals , 15-0 last week.
This could have been a calamity!.
However, The game started and whilst Dorking were on top, they missed a couple of chances and then with some good Churt pressing, Dorking who were super confident in back passing, fired one a bit heavy, past the keeper at after 4 minutes, it was 1-0 to Churt!
This helped Churt come more into the game. Dorking continued to have some great movement, particularly down the right, where Lily Jay was standing in as Left back, up against a very fast player. Ruby Clarke noticed this and asked if she could change to left back, unfortunately Dorking scored and it was 1-1.
Ruby did switch with Lily at Left back and midfield, and the game became more balanced. Dorking breaking through and Jamie Nixon making some great saves, but also Churt having their own chances.
The game was 1-1 at half time.
The second half was much the same. Churt defenders were pushed back, but also dealing with everything. Tia Eldridge and Tallula Musgrove, dominating the centre back positions and Amy O'Donnell having the game of her life at Right Back.
Ella Farrier was through with a one on one and the Dorking keeper managed to save it. Soon the ball went up the other end, and Dorking put it away. Such a close game, but suddenly Dorking were 2-1 up.
The rest of the game remained close and ended at 2-1.
Churt actually played the best they have played all season, getting very close to the best team in the league, and everyone playing for the team.
Brilliant performance from all!,
