Churt arrived at the game, having not won since before Christmas and lacking momentum with games being called off.
Both teams started well and it looked like it would be a close game.
On the 5th minute, Hannah Watts released a ball to the left and Maisie Lambert shot a thunder rocket over the keeper and it was 1-0 to Churt. No keeper was stopping that shot.
Churt started to dominate with Wimbledon making breaks every now and then.
On the 12th minute, Hannah Watts chased a ball through to the goalkeeper and in her press, she managed to steal the ball and round the keeper. 2-0 Churt.
Both teams played some good football throughout the rest of the half, Churt the better of the two times but just before half time, Jamie Nixon made an important save to keep the score at 2-0 for half time.
The teams came out again for the second half, and Churt continued to dominate, Getting to most balls first and on the 45th minute, A Churt attack resulted on the ball hitting the hand of a Wimbledon defender. A Penalty was given. Sometimes these are given, other times not, but for once in the past few weeks, Churt have the luck for once. Maisie Lambert stepped up and put the penalty away, 3-0.
10 minutes later, Hannah Watts was put through on goal and fouled about 25 yards out. An obvious foul by Wimbledon. Ruby Clarke stepped up and put the Free kick high into the goal. 4-0 to Churt and some beautiful football being played.
On the 62nd minute, Wimbledon made a good forward attack and somehow got behind the Churt defence, which had been so strong all game.
With two players past the defence, there was no chance for Jamie Nixon to save this time, and Wimbledon slot the ball away, 4-1 and the game was back on!.
Wimbledon then had a spell of 5 minutes where they were on top , but Churt held strong and the scored remained the same.
On the 70th minute, Ruby Clarke put Maisie Lambert through on the edge of the penalty area, again she struck home and this time for her hat trick. 5-1 Churt.
6 minutes later, Ruby Clarke put the game to bed, with a nice looping shot from just outside the penalty area, after being put through by Alex Hayward.
The game finished 6-1 to Churt. A return to form for Churt and one of the best displays of the season, against a strong Wimbledon team. Maisie Lambert had a great time as did many other players but player of the match went to AMY O'DONNELL, who had played brilliant as a striker, hassling the Wimbledon defence and winning the balls back all the time. !
