The two rival teams arrived at the derby game which is always full of friendly rivalry and a little bit more.
The pitch is one of the worst to play on, it has several humps and a dip to one side, so it was never going to be pretty football today,
Beacon Hill started the better of the two, but Churt started To dominate possession and have a couple of chances.
However on the 12th minute, against the current run of play, Beacon Hill got their 1st goal. 1-0 Beacon Hill.
Both teams continued to have chances in a feisty affair, Amy Thompson standing out for Churt, getting down the right, when the ball didnt run away on the slanted pitch, on one occasion she shot from outside the box and hit the post. It just wasn't Churt's day.
On the 30th minute Hattie for Beacon hill broke through, and scuffed a shot, but the scuff helped it loop over Churt goalie, Jamie Nixon.
Then, Churt had a break, but the linesman flagged offside for a player not interfering with play. The referee blew the whistle. The linesman said he'd got the decision wrong, but Beacon Hill were awarded a free kick. Interesting!
Then Hannah Watts was pushed in the back in the area but seemingly know foul (the beacon hill player apologised for the foul), Just one of those days!
At half time it was 2-0 to Beacon Hill, who had taken their chances well, but Churt were feeling frustrated by the chances that hadn't quite gone in and the referee seemingly being influenced too much.
The second half started, Churt had changed formation to 3-5-2 and had to go for it. They started to get on top, although always in danger of a break as Beacon Hill have a great attack and also the advantage of the downhill towards goal .
A great interception and run from Amy Thompson, on the 52nd minute, resulted in an assist across to Hannah Watts, who shot home. At last, Churt had the ball in the net, 2-1 Beacon Hill.
The game was still back and forth, it felt like who scored next would be the eventual winner.
On the 66th minute, Beacon Hill broke, And Churt keeper, Tilly Carr got two hands on the ball but the Beacon Hill player went down. A Penalty is given and three minutes later, after treatment for the Beacon Hill player, they score the penalty, with Tilly getting close to it. 3-1 and the game swings on another referee decision. All the 50/50's were going Beacon Hill's way, sometimes it just happens like that.
Churt picked themselves up again, and had attack after attack. Isobel Kandak moved up front again to chase the game.
On the 80th minute, Beacon Hill took a shot that bounced on a divert In front of the keep and went in. Wow, great shot of course, but the luck was just not with Churt today and it was with Beacon Hill who ended up winning 4-1.
One of those games which could have been much closer if the ball had bounced in and some of the 50/50 decisions had gone our way.
Well done Beacon Hill on your victory.
