Beaten by the better team

The Satellites run in the county cup came to an end today when they were resoundingly beaten by a very strong Dorking Red side in the quarter finals.
The home team started brightly but were hit on the counter attack in the 5th minute. After some nice passing a Dorking Red attacker hit an unstoppable shot into the top left hand corner of the Churt goal. 0-1.

The Satellites continue to play decent football and created a couple of half chance of their own but the away team continued to be a threat every time they attacked. Churt pressed the away team hard and Maisie won the ball successfully on a few occasions, although the team were able to create a clear cut chance. Hannah had the best chance of the half; she won the ball with her back to goal, and shot on the turn with the shot going just wide of the goal.

Dorking made it 0-2 on the 20th minute. The Satellites were unable to close down in time and a Dorking midfielder unleashed an unstoppable shot from the end of the box.

Half Time 0-2.

Dorking continued to dominate the game in the 2nd half. Despite the best effort of the home team they were unable to string many passing moves together, largely due to the intensity of the pressure from the away team. The away team made it 3-0 in the 45th minute, with another shot from outside the box, and then scoring further goals in the 51st, 60th and 75th minutes.

The Satellites were ultimately outclassed on this occasion but will be determined to get a result against this team later in the season when they face this team a further 2 times in the league.
