There was so much rain the past few days, games were getting called off everywhere, but not this one, so Churt looked to arrived and to protect their unbeaten record.
The game started and was well matched, but Churt took the lead on the 4th minute. Ruby Clarke got the ball on the edge of the area and looped a shot over the Goalkeeper.
The score was level after 9 minutes, with Wimbledon starting to play well down the right, suddenly one ball cut the Churt defence open and a nice shot over the keep went in the back of the net.
For a short while, Wimbledon were in the acendency, a couple of attempts came close, and one brilliant save from Jamie Nixon kept the scores level at the crucial time!
Churt switched the formation which evened it out again, and soon they took control, with Ruby Clarke scoring another great Goal on 23 minutes, after an assist from Tia Eldridge.
Churt were starting to purr, and Some great work down the left from Alex Hayward, resulted in an assist as Maisie Lambert smashed the ball home from a very tight angle.
On the 38th minute, a great team move, this time down the right, ended with Ella Farrier beating defenders to cut the ball back for Hannah Watts to score! 4-1 Half time.
The second half, Churt continued to dominate, the rain had been heavy again and was making the pitch conditions worse, and the ball was often getting held up around and in the Wimbledon penalty area. On the 55th minute Ella Farrier was brought down in the box and Hannah Watts bravely stood up to take the penalty, which she missed, just over the bar, slipping slightly as she took it.
Wimbledon were still in the game, but only through breaks every now and then as they couldnt get out of their own half. The Churt forwards and midfield were pressing well and Emily Watts at the centre of the midfield was picking everything up and starting to dictate play.
On the 67th minute, Churt broke again and Hannah Watts passed the ball in the path of Maisie Lambert, who struck it perfectly again to make it 5-1.
On the 78th minute, Hannah Watts took a great shot, which landed in the penalty area and just stopped in the rain, Ella Farrier reacted first and picked the ball up and literally dragged it into the goal for the Churt 6th!. Now 6-1 .
Wimbledon weren't quite finished, they had one last attack and were awarded a penalty after Amy Thompson fell onto the ball. A bit harsh in these conditions, but Wimbledon missed the penalty too, so the game ended 6-1 to Churt.
The team were magnificent, some great performances and goals from Ruby Clarke and Maisie Lambert, Emily Watts, holding it all together in the middle, with her battling team mate, Phoebe Lambert making herself known in the midfield.
The defence performed very well too, with Tia, Isobel, Tallula all holding strong and being helped by Alex, Maisie and Amy T, who took up the wing back and Right/Left back position!. And what a save from Jamie. As usual, Ella and Hannah, worked tirelessly for the team up front, both getting a goal each and assists too.
