Another Good Win Keeps The Satellites On Track

This was Churt Satellites penultimate game of the season, going up against R&R girls.

Not having played for a few weeks and only having 11 players we knew it was going to be a tough one.

Churt kicked off the game in the first half, shortly after they were being put under pressure already having to make some tough saves.

The Satellites were still not fully switched on which lead to a goal being conceded in the 15th minute. 1-0 R & R Girls.

Back to the centre churt kicked off again ready to take on the opposition, they were still being pushed back but Churt managed to make a few break throughs with Hannah Watts shot just going over the cross bar and Lily Jay's going wide.

The Coaches, Made a few changes with Ella going onto the right midfield and Hannah dropping in central midfield swapping with Amy O’Donnell who went up front .

Not long after Churt were awarded a free kick, Ella farrier stood up to take it looping it over all players whilst Ruby Clarke ran on to it passing it to Hannah Watts, who shot right at the keeper, but it was too powerful so it ended up in the back of the net!.

Finally 1-1, the half time whistle blew .

Both teams came back onto the pitch for another battle, with the pitch getting worse a few players were slipping over but that did not stop the Satellites.

Suddenly they were on top, getting in those crucial tackles, and getting onto the attack and making a break through, where the whistle was blown for a hand ball. PENALTY! Ella Farrier, bravely, stood up to take this one but unfortunately put it just wide of the post.

But we were not going to give up. A minute or so later, Ella was dribbling in the box and she got taken down, another penalty!!

This time Hannah Watts took it, she slotted it into the back of the net. Churt 2 - R&R girls 1 (And bringing a run of three penalty misses from the team to an end, phew!!)

The Satellites continued dominating play, having most of the possession. Even though we had no subs, nothing was going passed our defence and Tilly Carr was always ready to pounce on the ball.

Ella Farrier, won the ball at the half way line, in the corner and it fell to Ruby Clarke, who made an amazing pass over the top of every player, Hannah watts was there to take a touch and shoot. Churt were now 3-1 up with still 15 minutes to go.

Now all they had to do was defend and they did that really well, in between a few attacks of their own.

The final whistle blew 3-1 to the Satellites to take them into the last game of the season, level on points with Beacon Hill.

Player of the match was awarded to Lily Jay! Well done Lily! and Well done the whole team who out fought a tough team, even though there was only 11 players available!
