A Great start to the season

This was the first game of the season for both teams.
Barnes unfortunately had some sickness and only Brought 10 players, So Churt re-worked their formation to also play with 10. Quite an exercise for two teams who have moved from 9 aside to 11 and bigger pitches and goals.

The game kicked off and Was a bit back and forth until Churt started to take control. On the 4th minute, Ruby Clark played a through ball, hitting Amy O on the nose but clear through to Ella Farrier, who had her shot saved. Phew that was close but still 0-0.

Amy had to come off with a nose bleed, so Hannah Watts, came off the bench to replace her for a while.

On the 6th minute, Ruby dribbled down the right, between a couple of players and threaded the ball through to Ella Farrier. Ella clinically crossed the ball across goal and Hannah Watts was wait there to tuck it away. She doesn't normally miss from there and kicked of her goal tally and Churt's . 1-0.

Churt continued to press and have chances, but it was on the 14th minute that the opposition goalie kicked the ball out to close to Hannah, who took it forward and then stroke the ball passed the keeper from about 18 yards. 2-0 Churt.

Hannah then came back off and was replaced by Lily Jay.

On the 16th minute, Ruby who was causing all sorts of problems, also got a knock and then came off to be replaced by Amy Recker, who slotted into the Midfield role, alongside Liv Potter.

Churt continued to dominate, but with no further goals, on 28 minutes, Amy O was ready to come back on, so she came back on for Ella.

On the 33rd Minute Maisie Lambert hit the post from a long range effort. But the first half whistle was blown and it was 2-0 to Churt.

Churt made alot of changes at half time to bring some new energy, So Hannah slotted into Left midfield in place of Maisie. Emily Watts, came off the bench to replace Tia Eldridge, and a few other changes were made in the middle of the park.

Churt continued to dominate, if not more so, and on the 40th minute, Amy Thompson made a brilliant and persistent run down the right, knocking the ball to the goal line but managing to reach it and cross, for Amy O'Donnell to tuck the ball into the net. 3-0 Churt.

On the 47th minute, another goal came, this time with a similar move down the left and Hannah Watts, assisting with her cross for Lily Jay to tuck home. 4-0 Churt.

Lily and Hannah both came off and were replaced by Maisie lamber and Ella who brought some more great energy. Within minutes, Ruby Clark was fouled on the edge of the box and Ella placed the free kick over the goal keeper from just outside the penalty area. 5-0!

2 minutes later on the 51st minute, Maisie Lambert pressed and assisted through to Ella for her second. 6-0.

Then it was time for assist master, Ruby Clark, to get her own goal, as Liv Potter made a nice nicked pass through to her, she floated the ball over the top of the goalkeeper. 7-0.

The Girls were now rampant, and although we were making changes their will to win was second to none. So They continued to press forward, this time on 56 minutes, Ruby Clark was brought down in the box. Ella Farrier stepped up to complete her hat-trick, and put away the penalty. 8-0.

On the 59th minute, their was Ruby Clark again, pushing the ball through, unselfishly, to Ella for her 4th goal in 10 minutes. What a great achievement and great team effort!. 9-0.

And one minuter later, Maisie Lambert hit the last of the game, with a well deserved follow up, after a good save from the keeper. 10-0!!

Barnes had a couple of chances in the last minutes, mainly running past our defence, but all 4 of the defenders (who played as a 3), competed throughout the game and just looked unbeatable. Tilly in goal had a couple of efforts to stop and kept the defence organised as usual.

A Great team effort, a first win of the season, a 10-0 win, and a Woman of the match performance from Ruby Clark, who just pipped Ella to the vote.
Brilliant team performance girls well done!
