Churt came into the game in 2nd place in the table, on a 9 game unbeaten run and still trying to chase down table topping Beacon Hill.
Churt kicked off and started the game with a bang, when Tallula Musgrove, looped a curling ball over the Claygate defence, allowing Hannah Watts to collect the ball and run and shoot past the goal keeper. 1-0 after 90 seconds.
Churt continued to dominate with the occasional flurry up the other end from Claygate.
On the 6th minute, Lily Jay took a great corner that Hannah Watts headed just past the past.
On the 10th minute, Amy Thompson had a good run down the right but was unable to beat the defender with her cross.
On the 14th minute, another Churt centre back, Emily Watts, picked up an assist, by placing the ball through the gap in the Claygate defence for her sister, Hannah, to run onto. Hannah beat the keeper in a one on one, and although it looked like she may have over hit it, she managed to slot the ball in from a tight angle . 2-0 to Churt.
On 15 minutes, Churt made a couple of changes, taking off Lily Jay and Amy Thompson and bringing on Amy Recker and Ella Farrier.
Suddenly Claygate had a couple of chances down the left hand side but on both occasions, the Churt Goalkeeper, Tilly Carr made good saves to keep Claygate out.
A third attack just before the end of the second half, was thwarted by great running back, by Churt Right Wing Back, Ella Farrier.
The teams came in at Half Time with the score 0 - 2 to Churt.
Churt made two more changes at half time, with Lily Jay coming back on for Amy Recker and Amy O'Donnell coming off for Amy Thompson. Switching some positions around, Ella Farrier moved to the striker role and Amy Thompson went to Right Wing back.
The second half started much the same, with Churt on top, but both teams were tiring in the sun so the game had less fluidity. There were a couple of good moves from the new forward pair, Hannah Watts and Ella Farrier, and some great moves with Maisie Lambert down the left, feeding the strikers. But no more goals!
On the 45th minute, Maisie Lambert won the ball in the Claygate half, and looked up and powered a shot onto the Claygate crossbar. What a shot, but it bounced back out and away from danger.
Just after Maisie was subsitituted and replaced by Amy O' Donnell, who went to left back. Amy Recker came back on for Lily Jay in midfield.
The teams continued to battle it out and on the 47th minute, Claygate had a ball over to their top, for their striker, Katie, to run onto. Churt Keeper, Tilly Carr was off her line in a flash and made herself big, getting herself in the way and causing the Striker to put the ball wide. Really great goalkeeping from Tilly to protect her clean sheet.
There were a few more attacks from Churt, one resulted in Hannah Watts being tackled as she shot, and afterwards she came off for a well deserved rest on the 58th minute, with Lily Jay going back on. Amy Thompson also came off and Amy Recker went back on for the last few minutes.
The game ended Claygate 0 Churt 2, and Churt stretched their unbeaten run to 10 games, also with 6 wins in a row.
Tilly Carr was awarded woman of the match after making some great saves and keeping a clean sheet. A very confident performance from Tilly and her defence.
Unfortunately, Beacon Hill also won their game, and with two games left to go, they are now uncatchable, so they have won the league. Churt have secured second place.
We congratulate Beacon Hill for their Championship win and look forward to playing them in the last game of the season.
