Churt Satellites 4 Walton & Hersham Girls Cobra Reds 1

The Satellites tame the Cobras with a convincing win!

After losing to W&H Cobra's earlier in the season, 4-1 was a good win for Churt, over this strong side. We started well with a long shot by Emily Watts, saved by the goalkeeper. Then only 4 minutes in, Holly Donati assisted Ella Farrier to a great goal.

Soon after we almost put one in the back of our own net with a bouncing ball over the crossbar (but otherwise this was a strong defensive performance).

2 minutes later, a great move from Emily had an Ella again created a chance that was saved by their goalie. We had a few more chances including an Ella corner which came to Hannah Watts, who just missed out on converting. And also an offside Ella/Hannah combo.

Izzys (Isobel Kandak) clearance from our half also almost created a goal scoring opportunity (or was it a shot). Finally Maisie was taken down for a free kick which she then took, leading to a Watts goal (Emily assist/Hannah finish).

In the last minute of the first half, W&H took a quick throw in leading to their goal with a long range strike.
Half time 2-1

The 2nd half started slowly but 5 minutes in we had our first opportunity with a corner that hit the side netting and lots of battling from Liv Potter and great saves from the goalkeeper. Then Amy O'Donnell made a great run and shot but both this and the rebound by Liv were saved by their goalie.
10 minutes into the second half with Hannah & Amy upfront, they combined to make it 3-1 with Hannah doing a through ball and Amy with a brilliant finish.

Only 3 minutes later Maisies corner led to a great volley by Liv into the back of the net to make it 4-1.

Tilly Carr also made some good saves to keep a clean sheet in the second half.

As we came to the end of the match we were a bit stuck in our own half but broke out with a great pass from Izzy down the line, an Ella cross and Hannah shot making their goalie make another great save.

Full time 4-1. Happy Easter everyone.
