The teams arrived at today's fixture with Churt 3 points ahead of Beacon Hill, yet Beacon Hill had 2 games in hand, so it was a must win for both teams, added to the old rivalry of a local derby that is always close.
The game started and it was pretty intense with the ball going end to end, but Beacon Hill broke through the Churt defence on the 6th minute and managed to score their first goal.
Churt had a period of attack where they had so many chances it could have been 3-1 to Churt but for the Beacon Hill goalkeeper who literally kept everything out on her own!
In the second quarter Beacon Hill started to dominate and on the 26th minute, a shot from outside the box was deflected past Churt goalkeeper, Tilly Carr and suddenly it was 2-0.
Within 2 minutes Beacon Hill scored again with a long looping shot over the defence and the keeper and it was now 3-0 to Beacon Hill and thats how it stayed until Half Time.
Churt came off deflated as they'd definitely been in the game and the scoreline didn't feel like it matched the performance, so the team were sent out in the second half to see if they could turn it round.
Again It was end to end with chances, and Churt had some more that just wouldn't go in. One ricocheting around the box and finally just wide from Liv Potter.
On the 40th minute, Beacon Hill had a great move down the left hand side and another strong shot which was taken so well a premiership or WSL keeper would't have saved it. 4-0 to beacon Hill, somehow, a game where Beacon Hill were taking chances and Churt's were being kept out by the keeper.
This continued for the next 20 minutes, again Churt having some great pressure where the pinned Beacon Hill back with corner after corner, but nothing was going past the keeper who was putting in a "performance of the season".
The game finished Churt 0 Beacon Hill 4 and Beacon Hill knocked Churt off the top of the table. A scoreline that didn't flatter Beacon Hill with their Goal scoring but also didn't really show the chances and possession Churt also had, but a good victory for Beacon Hill all the same.
The Woman of The Match trophy was presented to Amy Recker for Churt who gave a solid performance in midfield. (Pretty sure Woman of the match for Beacon Hill was their goalie!)
All season Churt have been winning as a team, so today we lost as a team and regroup , dust ourselves off and go again for the next game.
