The game started with a Remembrance day minutes silence. We went into the game feeling positive, even without a valuable member of our team, our coach Greig, but thanks to James for stepping in.
Churt played the first half going uphill. There were lots of great opportunities for both sides and the Beacon Hill goalie made some good saves. After 15 minutes Emily Watts made a great clearance but injured her ankle while doing so and had to come off. Luckily our strong defence was still there, particularly Isobel who was ‘player of the match’. There were chances on both sides but the first half ended 0-0.
It started to rain at half time but the crowd kept cheering us on as Beacon Hill hit the cross bar twice and Tilly made some great saves. 10 minutes in, Beacon Hill scored from a goal mouth scramble and 5 minutes later made it 2-0 with a great shot. Maisie then made a great run down the right crossing the ball in, hitting a Beacon player on the arm, creating a penalty chance. Ella scored meaning our spirits were lifted with 10 minutes to go.
Amy T kicked a long ball down the pitch to Ella – the goalie made the initial save but Maisie was there for the rebound and put it in the back of the net. There were other chances on both sides but it ended 2-2.
We always look forward to playing Beacon Hill, our local rivals and will try and beat them next time.
Well done Satellites – Tilly, Isobel, Liv, Emily, Amy R, Holly, Maisie, Lily, Hannah, Amy O, Ella and Amy T.
