A strong win for Churt with another clean sheet!

The teams arrived with Churt sitting 2nd in the table and Barnes 2nd from bottom. The game started with both teams testing each other out and battling well but Churt opened the scoring with a Shot from Lily Jay, which the keeper saved well but Amy O'Donnell was there to pounce on the rebound. The game remained close, with Churt having some good chances, as they were kept out well by the Barnes goalkeeper, and a battling defence. On the 24th minute the ball came to Lilly Jay, just over the half way line, she controlled it well and then whacked it back towards goal, and beat the keeper, for what has to be a "goal of the season" contender. At Half time the score was 2-0 to Churt.

The second half continued in a similar fashion with Churt dominating possession and making chances, again being kept out by a changed Barnes Keeper. Eventually the pressure told and Amy Thompson's driving runs down the right really paid off, on the 45th minute she swung in a great cross for Hannah Watts to strike into the goal. Three minutes later Amy Thompson made another strong run, and a great shot, which ended up in the back of the net for Churt's 4th.
Still there was lots of pressure from Churt, every now and then Barnes broke out and on one occasion Tallulah Musgrove made a great interception and passed the ball back to Tilly In goal. Tilly picked the ball up, not realising it was a back pass, which resulted in an indirect free kick for Barnes in the penalty area. Luckily the Churt defence soon cleared it and the clean sheet was still intact. On 52 minutes Churt attacked again and Amy Recker, whom had already been putting in a battling performance in midfield, won the ball and passed the ball through to Hannah Watts, who again fired home. It was now 5-0 and both teams kept going. Barnes did very well to not completely collapse and kept trying to get out right until the final whistle. In the end the game finished 5-0 with a deserved win by Churt. A great performance from the whole team and Amy Thompson was voted Woman of the Match (by the girls). Tilly and the defence also keeping another clean sheet, showing that they are becoming very hard to beat
