Both teams came into the game in 1st and 2nd place in the table, having won their first game of the season well and by scoring lots of goals.
Churt started the game well and took an early lead when Hannah Watts received a long ball from Ella Farrier, in goal, and ran through and beat the Richmond goalkeeper. Richmond were soon back in the game with a shot from the edge of the penalty area and the teams fought a very tight first half but Hannah Watts pinched a second goal, taking Churt in at half time 2-1 up. Churt again started the half well and Maisie Lambert scored a flick header, from the near post, and a great corner from Ella Farrier, making it 3-1. Very soon after Churt went 4-1 up from a great shot from the edge of the box from Liv Potter. Suddenly the scoreline looked different to the tight first half but Richmond weren't giving up, and for the last 15 minutes of the game, they had Churt pinned back and having to make last minute blocks and saves. Eventually Richmond got their reward and their second goal to make it 4-2. Tallula Musgrove was now in goal for Churt and made several great saves to keep Richmond's forwards and the ball out. Both teams kept battling to the end but eventually the final whistle went and Churt ended up winning 4-2. Probably one of the best team performances we've seen from Churt, against a very strong Richmond team, a very well fought game from both and a classic game to watch!
