Steph’s comment sums up what Churt Girls FC is all about! Our mission is to give as many girls and ladies the opportunity of playing football in the right environment so that they, like Steph, will love it!

Our second season as an independent club has only just finished on 2 July, and looking back I feel we are doing just that.

70 new players joining in the last 12 months

Quite incredibly, our player numbers have increased by 70 over the course of the season, and the vast majority are new to girls’ and ladies’ club football. Encouragingly, they are across all of our age ranges: some are 6-years-old, some are women, but the majority are secondary-school-age girls, which is fantastic to see.

19 teams entered for matches for the 2023/24 Season

Not only are we focussing on getting more girls to play football generally, but we also want them to play in competitive matches when they are ready to do so. To facilitate this, we now have 19 league teams registered with Surrey FA to play matches next season. Even better, three of these new teams will be for some of our secondary-school-aged girls who are new to football, so that they can play small-sided matches in the newly created Surrey FA Flexi-league. This league will be perfect for these players.

Over 220 players at Churt Girls FC

It was only six years ago when just eight players came along to the first-ever Churt Girls training session. Astonishingly, the number of players has kept on increasing ever since and we now have more than 220 players – wow!

Our players

We have players at all stages of their football journey. There are some who play with academies and play as often as they can, but still choose to play for Churt Girls FC at grassroots. Others are just starting out, training and playing matches every week with us, with some choosing to train only and will decide to play matches when the time is right for them.

We welcome all girls and ladies, whatever your age, level or footballing experience. There is a Churt Girls or a Churt Ladies team for you.
